The following were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw
which was held  in the Patrick’s Well;- Rhona and Jim McGrath, John
Lenehan, Leonard Sutton, Gus Quinn, Allison Clarke and Karen Healy. The
house prize was won by Thomas Brady. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will
stand at €6,600 for Saturday night next’s draw which will be held in
Mattimoes with Team A in charge. It was a quiet week on the playing
fields but Abbey Park was a hive of activity with the successful staging
of the Kelloggs Cúl Camps for the region. The U14s will play Western
Gaels in the Division 2 Championship in Frenchpark on Thursday next at
7.30pm. The McGovern Directional Drilling seniors may be in action on
Wednesday week 16th in the O’Rourke Cup away to St Aidans. This depends
on the outcome of the Roscommon versus Cavan All Ireland Qualifier.
Hopefully Roscommon will be successful, and, if so, this fixture will be
postponed and replaced by the first round of the County Junior B
Championship where our Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra team will play St
Faithleachs in Abbey Park at 8pm. In the meantime this team will play
Kilmore on this Friday at 8pm in the Division 4 League. Best
wishes are extended to the Roscommon Seniors and especially to Donie and
Enda, on Saturday in Cavan, and also to the Roscommon Minors, and to
our representative Evan McGrath, in the Connacht Final in Castlebar on
Sunday next.
Ladies.
The Boyle Ladies
footballers lost to a physically  stronger Eire Og team in the
Intermediate Championship in the Abbey Park on Sunday. They are
scheduled to play their next championship game against Shannon Gaels on
Sunday next at 12 noon in Abbey Park.
