UPDATE 28 APRIL 2014

The following were the €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in An Craoibhin;- Tom Commons, Pat and Liz Gannon, Finbar Feely, Donal Connaughton, Liam Mitchell and Jarlath Tivnan. The house prize was won by Breege Mulryan. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be at €6,100 for this Saturday night’s draw which will be held in the Railway Bar. Team A will be in charge. The U14s suffered losses to Tulsk and St Dominics in their fixtures played last week. They will meet Kilmore/ Shannon Gaels in their next league outing on the 15th of May. The U16s finished their league campaign with a loss to Western Gaels in the Abbey Park on Sunday. Although their league campaign has been disappointing, it was heartening to see increased numbers and with a strengthening of the panel, there is optimism for a more successful championship. The Cooney Motors/ Cooneys Centra Juniors lost a relatively close encounter with St Barry's in the Abbey Park on Friday evening last. They will meet St Michael's in their next outing on Friday evening next at 7.30pm in Ardcarne Park. Thanks to Liam Conroy for coming on board as manager. The McGovern Directional Drilling seniors are scheduled to play St. Croan's in their next O’Rourke Cup outing on Monday next at 2pm in the Abbey Park. Confirmation on whether or not this game is going ahead will be confirmed during the week. The Abbey Park will host the Division 4 League Final between Elphin and Michael Glaveys on Thursday evening at 7pm. Club members are asked to make themselves available to act as stewards. This week is the final opportunity to get your ticket for the Club Rossie draw which is scheduled for Saturday night next. It is a great opportunity to win one of the many attractive prizes, and to support the ongoing development of our County teams, all of whom are doing very well at present. It should also be noted that 10% of proceeds of all tickets returns to the club. Supporters are also reminded that the Supervalu campaign is ongoing whereby Supervalu doubles points given for shopping to all those who have given details of their Loyalty Card to Boyle Club, and the Club get the  benefit of the extra points. We strongly encourage the giving of the eleven digit Club Loyalty Card number to Mary Smith at 086 8211683. Congratulations are extended to the Roscommon Senior footballers on winning the Division 3 League Final in Croke Park on Saturday. Best wishes to Donie and Enda and the Roscommon U21s in the All Ireland Final in Tullamore on Saturday. We encourage everyone to put out their Rossie flags to show the lads our support. The last person leaving Boyle for Tullamore on Saturday is asked to switch off the lights!

LADIES CLUB

Pride of the week goes to the U16 girls who won the Division 1B county title comprehensively against Kilbride in Croghan on Sunday evening (See picture below).  Kilbride opened with a goal and it took Boyle a while to settle but once they settled they never looked back. It was an all around team performance and  Boyle were the hungrier team on the day. It finished on a score line of 7-16 to 1-5. This is a massive achievement for this group as they have been knocking on the door of a county title since U12. The U12 girls had a great win over neighbours Shannon Gaels on Wednesday on a score line of 2-4 to 2-1. The ladies continue training in preparation for their first championship outing vs Western Gaels on May 10th. Best Wishes are extended to all the girls making confirmation next weekend.
