UPDATE 19 MAY 2014

A weakened Junior team suffered a 3 point loss to Ballinameen on Saturday evening in the Abbey Park. Their next outing is against Michael Glavey's at a date to be confirmed. The McGovern Directional Drilling Senior Men's team have a big week ahead with an away fixture against Roscommon Gaels on Friday at 8 in Lisnamult, and a home game on Sunday against Strokestown at 2 o' clock. All stewards are asked to be in the park on Sunday at 12.30. Following the game on Sunday there will be a new seat unveiled and blessed in memory of the late Eoin Lavin and all are invited to attend. The monthly meeting will take place on Wednesday at 8 o clock in the clubroom and all members are asked to attend as there are a number of important issues for discussion. Liam Conroy will be in charge of the gym going forward and it is vital that those using the facility bring any rubbish home with them and tidy away all weights after their session. Unless a person is a member of the club they are not entitled to use the gym and all must be of the required age and have been trained in the use of all equipment. If anyone has any queries they can contact Liam on  086 3795280 where he will be happy to help and may even demonstrate the art of a correct wide arm chin up for anyone who is unsure. Congratulations to Roscommon on a comfortable win over Leitrim on Sunday and we can now look forward to a Semi-Final v Mayo in the Hyde.

There is 8 weeks left in the SuperValu loyalty cards promotion. It is vital for the club to hit their target that as many shoppers as possible who have the cards use them on their weekly shops.

Code of Ethics/Child Protection Awareness training will be held in the club room on Friday 23rd May from 7-10pm. All coaches involved with underage teams are required to complete this training every 5 years. Contact Jan on 086 0667163 to confirm attendance before Wednesday 21st. Anybody considering becoming involved in coaching in the minor club next year is also encouraged to attend.
